BackerKit Surveys Coming Soon!

Hi all! 

Just a head's up that BackerKit surveys are coming soon!  We'll send another update once they've been deployed.  Sincere apologies for the delay getting them sent out, but know that they've been submitted to Backerkit for final review and should be ready within the next couple days.

What to expect:  soon, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https:// vistoathletic.backerkit.com.

If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please contact support at https://vistoathletic.backerkit.com/faq.

All Good Things Come To An End

Well, we did it.  We're at the end of our campaign and we can't thank you enough for backing us.  Tomorrow morning our campaign ends which means you should be seeing a charge to your account for the amount you pledged.  Additionally, we'll be sending out a survey here in the next few days to gather information about sizing, colors, styles, etc. so we can get you what you want, so please be on the lookout and be sure to fill it out.  Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.  And again, THANK YOU!!!

Two Weeks Down - Two to Go!

Hi everyone!  We are just over two weeks into our Kickstarter campaign and we're working furiously behind the scenes to iron out the remaining wrinkles so we can deliver you all a quality product you'll love.  

Some exciting things have been happening this week at Visto.  We partnered with Taushah at roadrunnerchick.com to demo and review some of our products.  Go check out her blog and follow her on Instagram: @roadrunnerchic1 to see what she has to say.  She's incredible and we're pumped to be working with her. 

Another exciting thing is we were asked to sponsor an aid station at the Utah Valley Marathon on June 1st.  Watch for us at mile 17, just in front of Bridal Veil Falls if you're running!  We'll wave and hand you drink as you run by.  Or, you're always welcome to stop to chat if you're looking for an excuse to rest mid-run.  No judgement here.  We're not even running, so stay and chit chat as long as you'd like!

For those interested, on the product front, we're still trying to get things finalized with a few suppliers, but we're making really good progress and getting close.  Pricing of the reflective material has been difficult to nail down.  The original quote we were given has increased significantly but we've been able to find other suppliers who are much more affordable.  Still working through it but we're confident we'll have it sorted out this week.  We were also ready to pull the trigger with our first shipment of hats and had to make some minor design modifications first. 

Tariffs in China also continue to be a source of anxiety as we watch to see what happens and the impact it has on our business.  We're keeping tabs on the situation and also considering and pursuing other alternatives as backup.

Just know that we're staying on top of things because we're committed to bringing you a product you'll love.  There are lots of nuances that go into this whole process, but we're not willing to cut corners and it's actually kind of fun.  Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.  Visto is our favorite thing to talk about, so don't hesitate to ask!  And tell your friends about us!

What to Expect As a Backer

Yo Visto Backers!  Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend.  Since many of you are first time Kickstarter backers we just wanted to send a quick note to everyone so you know what to expect.  The way Kickstarter works is the campaign runs until June 6th, at which point we send out a survey to each of you for you to specify what design, color and size of product you want.  We estimate collecting all of the responses will take about 2-3 weeks, putting us toward the end of June.  After hearing back from everyone we'll be ready to place our first official bulk orders with our suppliers to start manufacturing.

Sometime around the beginning of August we expect manufacturing to be complete and our products to be put on a boat. Barring any major quality control issues, customs holdups, etc. we hope to have everything here middle of August, at which point we start shipping to you.  So best case scenario, you'll have your stuff the end of August (better than Amazon Prime, right?!?!?). Worst case scenario, we expect you to have your stuff by end of October.  We know it's not ideal to have to wait six months for your stuff, but please know that this is actually fairly aggressive for a Kickstarter and even still, we're doing everything we can to get them to you sooner, so thanks for being patient.

Funded!!!

Man, what a cool experience this has been!  I was sitting at the table yesterday evening considering alternate ways we could increase backers and funding when I just happened to look down at my computer.  Right at that moment, the funding count on our campaign page got a quick little burst of $ and suddenly...FUNDED!!!!  We did it!  I haven't been that excited about something in a long time.  And it's all thanks to you.  You've been so supportive and generous and we're SO, SO grateful.

We're not out of the woods yet.  The $10K funding goal is the minimum needed to get this company off the ground.  We can make it work, but by no means is it ideal.  So please continue spreading the word, however you feel comfortable.  We've also got a lot of work to do in order to fulfill these orders over the next few months, but we are up for the challenge and committed to delivering you a product you love.

It's kind of a crazy world, this crowd-funding thing.  As we've pursued other avenues of marketing our campaign we've noticed many Kickstarter marketing services or channels  won't even consider you unless you have sufficient backers and/or have hit your funding goal.  So again, THANK YOU!!!  You've enabled us to tap into other opportunities for growth that we otherwise wouldn't have had access to.
